Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we continue our mission of delivering compassionate care when patients need it most.
After transitioning to an urgent care center in 2015, we have remained unaffiliated with any hospital system and are a nonprofit. In 2024, we were named the nation’s first Level 1 Urgent care.
As healthcare changes and hospital-based emergency departments became more widely available, the role of our facility also evolved. In 2015, the Board of Trustees officially changed the facility’s name to Newark 24/7 Urgent Care Center to better reflect the care we provide today.
While we are no longer a free-standing emergency department, we continue to provide an advanced level of urgent care that exceeds what many traditional urgent care centers offer. Our mission remains the same: delivering timely, compassionate, high-quality medical care whenever our community needs it.

In 2024, we became the first urgent care center in the United States to earn Level 1 Urgent Care Accreditation through the National Urgent Care Center Accreditation (UCCA) program.
We are also the first urgent care center in the nation to earn Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program (CUAP) certification through the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)—the same ultrasound accreditation held by many of the country’s leading emergency departments.
Today, Newark 24/7 Urgent Care Center is proud to be recognized as the first facility in Delaware authorized to use the designation “Urgent Care” and the first Level 1 Urgent Care Center in the United States.
Our center is staffed by experienced physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, X-ray technicians, and support professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care around the clock.

Newark 24/7 Urgent Care is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with a physician always on site. Our experienced team provides advanced urgent care services, including on-site digital X-rays, point-of-care ultrasound, laboratory testing, EKGs, IV fluids and medications, breathing treatments, fracture care, laceration repair, and many other procedures.
Our goal is to diagnose and treat as many illnesses and injuries as safely as possible without the need for an emergency department visit. If a higher level of care is needed, we will begin appropriate treatment and coordinate transfer to the emergency department.
